Cambodia - Temples and Tropical Rain

Right at the airport of Siem Reap Patricia and I met an English couple, Lloyd and Michelle, with whom it turned out we'd be spending most of our time throughout Cambodia and Vietnam. The temples of Angkor Wat are just amazing and we spent three days discovering them.

After that we moved on to the capital Phnom Penh, which turned out to be a special experience - already getting off the bus was quite difficult because of the huge competition among taxi drivers trying to get us to their vehicles.

Singapore: First impressions

Straight from the airport I went to take over our appartment in Heritage View, which is a condominium in walking distance to INSEAD. Quite a nice place, with swimming pool, palm trees and sports facilities. Most INSEAD students stay either here or in Dover Parkview, which is the condo next door. These condos are probably the main reason, why INSEAD Singapore is dubbed "Club Med", by envious Fonti (INSEAD Fontainebleau campus) students, of course.

My apartment is on the 8th floor and features a good view of the pool, and also a corner of INSEAD (between the blue/white school building and the highrise construction site).

By late July already a few students had arrived and we met down at the pool - due to the lack of studying materials at that time! Also Patricia, my travel mate for the following four weeks had arrived the same day. After four days in Singapore discovering Orchard Road, settling in and getting used to tropic climate we left again, to get the best out of our time here in Southeast Asia before classes started!

Leaving for Singapore

After a few busy last weeks at Kambly (picture: HQ and production site in Trubschachen, between Berne and Lucerne), ...

... and a fun weekend with Mäsi, Irene, and Theo at the Gurten Openair Festival, I left Switzerland on July 19 for Singapore...
